Take this eight-week course and then be an act at London’s legendary DDG jam! Show: Monday 11 May.
We are a free improv comedy jam to which anyone in the world can sign up. As such, you’ll meet people with circumstances, ways of living and opinions different from your own.
At DDG Improv we do not tolerate harassment of any kind. Everyone has the right to feel safe at our Zoom events, in our social media spaces and at our live, in-person show. We ask you to respect each other and us and to observe kindness at all times.
At DDG we want everyone to have fun. We do not want this fun to be at anyone’s expense. No-one’s identity, therefore, is to be treated as a punchline or as something that is up for debate: including, but not limited to, race, gender, gender expression, sexuality, religious beliefs, economic band/background, age, or disability/impairment.
We understand that, in improv, risky or difficult subject matter sometimes arises. We aspire to make our jam a small utopia away from the world’s stresses. Please play with full emotional intelligence, integrity and common sense to help maintain a safe room for everyone.
At the jam, we reserve the right to stop a scene at any time. Please feel free to leave the stage (or at the online jam, to turn off your camera) if you need some time out. Please also remember that you have the right to speak up or to write to any DDG Captain if you feel uncomfortable. You have the right to leave a scene or montage at any time.
Our Policy and Next Steps
Every incident or complaint is dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Generally, issues of concern or breaches of our Code of Conduct will be handled through private message or one-to-one communication as we work it out. Repetitions may be taken to external moderators for assessment. Our moderators are experienced and trusted teacher/players who will meet to reach a majority resolution. A major incident or an issue involving one of our Jam Captains will be elevated to our external moderators.
DDG Improv reserves the right to implement exclusion from our show or our online community groups if we have been made aware of conduct that we deem to be in contravention of our Code of Conduct.
Thanks for reading and we look forward to meeting you at the jam.
Thanks to the International Improv Station for support in creating our Code of Conduct.
