The Online Jam is Coming to a Close
Hello, everyone,
After two and a half years on Zoom, we feel that it’s time to bring the online jam to a close.
We have been running the online jam since the second week of UK lockdown and when everything came to a sudden close, we, like everyone else, did not know what would happen to theatre, improv, our hobbies, and even some of our livelihoods.
We quickly came to the decision to take the jam online and we had no idea what would be in store for us.
One of the few good things to come out of the pandemic was getting the opportunity to meet and connect with so many people on a global scale which we would not have been able to do otherwise.
In the height of lockdown, we ran the jam every week. As things started to reopen and improv began to return to the stage (including our own on-stage jam), we reduced our time to running the jam monthly on Sunday evenings. Apart from Christmas and summer breaks, the jam has run uninterrupted but we do think that now is the right time to bring the online jam to a close and the December Zoom jam will be our last one.
We want you all to know how grateful we are for your support. Turning up every week made being stuck at home a lot more bearable than it might otherwise have been and we cannot thank you enough for that.
DDG are still here if you want to stay in touch (we hope you do) and if you find yourself in London on a Monday evening, we would be delighted to see you at an on-stage jam.
Until then, keep an eye out for our next online jam.
Lots of love,
Your online jam hosts,
Brendan, Dan, Vanessa, Vic, and Steff
